Why Choose BnH

Trust is earned in the small details of an ordinary service call

Anyone can claim to be careful and honest. What follows is what those words actually look like on a job: how we diagnose, how we communicate, how we treat your house, and why having one company for both plumbing and HVAC makes your life easier.

What We Hold Ourselves To

Four principles that shape every visit

A Family Owned Feel, On Purpose

There's a real difference between calling a company where somebody's name is on the line and calling a dispatch center that treats your house as the next slot on a route. We're the former, and we'd like to stay that way.

Practically, that means the person you speak with knows the job. It means we remember the house we were at last spring and the water heater we said to keep an eye on. It means we'd rather have a customer for the next ten years than squeeze one invoice.

Professional Workmanship, Start to Finish

Good work starts with a proper diagnosis. We test, measure and check before we conclude, because replacing parts on a hunch is how homeowners end up paying twice for the same problem.

On installations, the details we take time on are the ones that determine whether the system performs: sizing, airflow, drainage, pipe support, secure connections, and clean routing. When we're finished, the mechanical work should look as deliberate as it functions.

Honest Communication

We'll tell you what we found, what's causing it, and what your realistic options are, including the option of waiting, when waiting is genuinely reasonable.

If a repair is the smart move, we'll say so instead of steering you toward a replacement. If the equipment is truly at the end of its life, we'll say that too, and we'll explain the reasoning rather than just handing over a number.

Respect for Your Home

Drop cloths go down. Boots get covered. Doors don't get propped open all afternoon. We work around pets, kids' nap schedules and the fact that you probably have your own day to get through.

When we pack up, the work area gets cleaned, old equipment and packaging leave with us, and we walk you through what we did before we go.

One Company, Both Systems

Plumbing first, with serious HVAC capability behind it

Most homeowners end up with a folder of numbers: one company for the water heater, another for the furnace, someone else for the drain that backs up every spring. It's a hassle, and it means nobody has the full picture of your house.

Plumbing is the core of our business, repairs, leaks, drains, water heaters, fixtures, pipe work and installation. Alongside it we do a substantial amount of heating and cooling work, including full system replacements and oil to gas conversions.

The two overlap constantly. A condensate drain problem looks like a plumbing leak. A water heater sits in the same utility space as the furnace. A remodel needs both trades coordinated, not scheduled against each other.

One call, one crew that knows your home, and one company accountable for how the work turns out.

Plumbing Side

Repairs, leaks, drains, water heaters, fixtures, pipe work, installation and preventative checks.

HVAC Side

Cooling, heating, heat pumps, ductless systems, thermostats, installation, replacement and maintenance.

Mass Save® Assistance

See if Mass Save may help with your project

Massachusetts homeowners often have access to rebates, incentives, financing or energy assessments through Mass Save, but only for certain qualifying improvements, and only when the home, equipment and utility provider fit the program requirements. We're happy to walk through where your project might fit and help with the paperwork side of it.

  • Water heating upgrades

Certain water heating improvements, such as heat pump water heaters, currently carry Mass Save incentives when installed by an eligible installer and when the home and equipment meet program requirements. Not every water heater replacement qualifies, so it's worth asking before you buy.

  • Heating & cooling improvements

Qualifying heating and cooling projects, including some air source heat pump installations, may be eligible for Mass Save incentives. Requirements vary by equipment, home and utility territory, and program terms change over time.

  • Income qualified households

Income qualified Massachusetts households may have access to enhanced incentives and, through certain Mass Save programs, no cost energy efficiency improvements. Eligibility is determined by the program and not by us, but we can point you to the right place to check.

  • Help with the process

Programs, forms and requirements are genuinely confusing. We can explain what applies to the work you're considering, help gather the documentation the program asks for, and be straight with you when a project simply doesn't qualify.

Mass Save is an independent Massachusetts program and BnH does not control eligibility, approvals or incentive amounts. Nothing here is a guarantee that your project will qualify or that any specific rebate is available. We'll tell you honestly what we know and where to verify the current program terms.

The Customer Experience

What a good service visit actually feels like

The technical work matters, but so does everything around it. These are the parts homeowners tell us they notice.

  • Showing up when we say we will

If something shifts, you get a call, not silence and a window that quietly expires.

  • Knowing the cost before we start

We explain the work and what it comes to, then let you decide. No surprises added at the end.

  • Leaving it cleaner than we'd want to find it

Cleanup isn't a courtesy add on. It's part of finishing the job.

  • Confidence when we leave

We test the work with you, answer questions, and make sure you understand what changed and why.

The People Behind BnH

A small crew, and that's the point

You're not going to meet a different subcontractor every visit. The same small group does the work, which makes it much easier to hold a consistent standard, and much harder to hide from a job that didn't go well.

We'd rather grow slowly and keep quality where it is than add trucks faster than we can train people. If that means you occasionally wait a day for a not urgent appointment, we think it's a fair trade for work you don't have to worry about.

We're always glad to take on new customers, and we're comfortable being the second opinion when something doesn't add up.

Our name is on every job
